HI-Midcape

This hostel is accessible by bus, car, and bike.

From Boston (approx. 1.5 hrs) take Rt 3 South to the Sagamore Bridge. After crossing the Bridge, this becomes Rt 6. Take Rt 6 past exit 12 (just 45 minutes from the bridge). The highway ends at the Orleans Rotary. Go 3/4 of the way around the rotary (roundabout) and get off at Rock Harbor turning left as you get off the exit. Follow Rock Harbor Rd for 1/4 mile and make your first right onto Bridge Rd. Go 1/4 mile further and make your first right onto tiny Goody Hallet Drive. The hostel is on the left.

Bus: For bus service, take the Plymouth and Brockton Bus from South Station in Boston and get off in ORLEANS, not Eastham.

HI-Truro

From Boston (approx. 2 hrs) take Rt 3 South to the Sagamore Bridge. After crossing the Bridge, this becomes Rt 6. Follow Rt 6 until you get to the Pamet Road exit (well signed). Get off that exit and take a left onto North Pamet Rd. A mile and a half down that road, the hostel is on the right - the last house.

Bus: For bus service, take the Plymouth and Brockton Bus from South Station in Boston and get off at the South Truro Post Office. Walk the rest of the way and we'll treat you to a cold drink!

HI-Martha's Vineyard

From Boston (approx. 1hr )Take Route 24 south to Route 495, follow across the Bourne Bridge and then follow Route 28 to Falmouth and Woods Hole. Take the Steamship Authority ferry to Vineyard Haven (see below).

Bus: For bus service, take the Bonanza Bus from South Station or Logan Airport in Boston to Woods Hole Ferry Terminal. Take a ferry to Vineyard Haven - only $5.50 (see below).

From Vineyard Haven: 7.3 miles south of Vineyard Haven ferry terminal (bicycles available at ferry). Left on Water St. (0.1 mile), right on State Rd. (3 miles), left on Old County Rd. (3.5 miles), left on Edgartown-W. Tisbury Rd. (0.7 mile) or take a taxi or #6 bus line (ask the driver). Map.

Bike: We are in West Tisbury, just west of Airport Rd. Map.

HI-Nantucket

From Boston Follow Route 3 (Southeast Expressway) to Route 6 over the Sagamore Bridge to Exit 6; Route 132 into Hyannis. At Airport Rotary take your second right onto Barnstable Road; this road turns into Ocean Street. Hy-Line's ferry terminal is 1-1/4 miles from the rotary. The trip is approximately 1-1/2 hours, depending on traffic. (see below) or, to park for free, park at Cape Cod Community College (Exit 6 off Rte. 6). Take an express shuttle to the Hyannis docks (Memorial Day weekend & July 2-Labor Day only).

Bus: For bus service, take the Plymouth and Brockton Bus from South Station in Boston and get off at the Hyannis Transportation Center. Take a short free shuttle ride to either the Hy-Line ferry or the Steamship Authority.

From Nantucket Village: 3 1/2 miles from Nantucket ferry wharf. Go up Main St., take left on Orange St. and then a right on E. York St. (at Bake Shop!). Bear left onto Atlantic Ave., which becomes Surfside Rd. Stay on Surfside Rd. for 2 miles. At the beach go right, onto Western Ave. Take the Surfside Shuttle Bus, rent a bike (see below) take a taxi or walk! Map.
