Pleasant Bay is protected by a barrier beach, and flows with gentle tidal waters that make it a paradise for kayakers of any experience level. After a long day in the sun, relax at the Mid-Cape hostel and meet people from all over the world. You can learn about other cultures just by hanging out in the hostel dining room.

- 3 hour guided kayak trip with a certified instructor/educator

Imagine putting your toes in the soft sand, feeling the salty air on your face, feeling, seeing and hearing the ocean? Then this Getaway is for you. Follow in Thoreau's footsteps.
Cape Cod, Massachusetts and its miles of white sand beaches, and Thoreau walked it all. Learn about the Cape Cod National Seashore with a guided, interpretive two hour beach walk. We will explore music from Bach to birds. Listen to the cadence of ocean waves, and awaken our senses to the sounds of a salt marsh community tucked neatly behind the protection of a barrier beach and the Atlantic Ocean. Along with the wonderful birding - watching and listening - learn about the Cape's historic past, the Native American influences and the ecosystem that supports this wonderful estuary. After a long day in the sun, relax at the Mid-Cape hostel and meet people from all over the world. You can learn about other cultures just by hanging out in the hostel dining room.

Surfin’ Safari
This one is all fun!! Learn about waves, currents, tides, and how to ride the ocean!
Catch the wave, catch the craze!!
Cape Cod, Massachusetts and its miles of white sand beaches. Learn confidence and respect for our oceans while participating in the fastest growing water sport. Taught by the Cape's oldest Surf School (14 years!), your instructors are kind, patient and courteous. No more than four girls to one instructor. Board and wet suits are included. After a long day in the sun, relax at the Mid-Cape hostel and meet people from all over the world. You can learn about other cultures just by hanging out in the hostel dining room.
