September 2005 (Truro)
Summer in the USA is the best summer in my life. I discovered a new land for me, learned English, got good friends. I really believe, one day I'll be back to see Bearberry Hill and remember the days, I'd spent there, the great fun and my friends (give a hug to my bratik). This is Truro Hostel, where the air smells friendly and everybody is happy. Truro Hostel is voted #1 Hostel in North America 2004. It is not a coincidence. Here are the names of guys who did it: Mike, Jeff, Shirley. Thank you, Tanya.

An absolutely positively brilliant place in smashing location, with great staff and loads to do. Dominic
August 2005 (Truro)
It was comfortable, affordable, and the experience was one I will never forget. The location was perfect. Aaron.
August 2005 (Nantucket)
Location is good to the extent that it is on a nice beach (Surfside). Felipe.
August 2005 (Midcape)
This is quite a good hostel. Elva
August 2005 (Truro)
Amazing location, very nice people, very relaxing and fun. There is no place to hang out at night though if you wanna talk except for the beach since there are quiet hours at the hostel. So it's not a party place but a place to relax, go to the beach and cook(great kitchen that people use a lot). If you go by bus(drops you off right across the street from the supermarket) I recommend to go to the Supermarket as soon as you arrive in Truro. Friederike.
July 2005 (Truro)
Great location! but its quite a walk from the bus stop... but people are friendly: just hang around jams store for a while and someone will give you a ride...Joop.
July 2005 (Midcape)
This cottage like hostel is very cute. The restrooms (at least for men) need some investment. We were not the only family in that hostel! Rainer
July 2005 (Midcape)
Nice place. Big kitchen, well-stocked with cooking gear. Volleyball net. Games and books. Close to bike trails. Breakfast included for a nominal fee. Staff intelligent and charming. All in all, a splendid hostel. John.
July 2005 (Martha's Vineyard)
A really nice hostel full of island character! the rooms did not have any locks on, or any lockers in the room but I felt that my belongings were safe during my stay. Very enjoyable! Katie.
July 2005 (Truro)
This place is the bomb!!! Situated right on the beach on the dunes makes it a perfect getaway from everyday pressure. What a great chill out place this is... Will definitely be coming back :) Staff is friendly and always ready to help. Great atmosphere! Only disadvantage: no public transport to hostel from last bus stop in downtown Truro. Try to hitchhike instead (will meet people from the neighborhood and get to know more about the region). Definitely worth a visit! Karoline.
July 2005 (Midcape)
(Our Girl Scout Troop) had a wonderful weekend! I am telling everyone how nice your hostel is. I hope that I can return soon. I love biking on the Cape Cod bike trail but didn't get a chance this time. It was a learning experience. I had a great time. Work has been very stressful, and I didn't think about it once this weekend. Thanks for all your help. You have a lot of patience. Denise

June 2005 (Nantucket)
We stayed when the bus line wasn't running out there yet and we didn't have bikes...a long walk! Otherwise it was great - beautiful hostel on a beautiful island. Jessica
June 2005 (Nantucket)
This is a great hostel .... Jeff the manager is very cool and helpful and the beaches are seconds away and very beautiful. Amanda
May 2005 (Martha's Vineyard)
This staff had it together. I can't help but wonder if the hostels have some sort of idea-sharing network. If they don't, they should. Stephanie.
June 2005 (Midcape)
Just wanted to let you know that we all had a wonderful time staying at the hostel during our visit to the Cape June 13 - 17th. The leaders at least, and I hope the girls, look forward to getting together sometime this summer to share photos and make a scrapbook of Senior Troop 378's adventurous trip to Cape Cod. Many of these scouts had never been that far from home -- so what an experience traveling to other states and meeting folks from other countries! Thank you so much for helping make this a memorable experience! Sincerely, Jan, GS Troop 378

The 2 days that I spent at the H.I. in Truro were one of the best experiences I've ever had. The staff were unbelievably friendly and warm and the guests were also great. It was exactly what I was looking for. Will I be back next year? You betcha! Thanks again. cheers, Ryan
August 28 2004 (Cape and Islands hostels)
Thank you for donating all our hostel stays to the Next Step Young Adult Cancer Survivor Excursion. Sara and Kyle and I had the time of our lives. Staying at hostels was such a treat for us; we got to meet and interact with people in ways that wouldn't have been possible in any other environment. I firmly believe that the hostels made our trip the success that it was. Where else could we have gotten sightseeing tips, had a campfire on the beach, sat out under the stars with new friends and gotten not one, but two free rides to catch our ferries? I think I can safely say we are all hooked on hostelling! We will cherish these memories forever. Kate.
August 28 2004 (Martha's Vineyard)
only one block from the beach! The only problem is the beach is 3.5 miles from town and the last bus leaves at 5pm, so after that plan on walking on taking a taxi. The staff was extra accommodating and cleaned every day. Daniel
August 28 2004 (Martha's Vineyard)

I cannot say enough good things about this Girl Scout program! Martha and Crystal were great. Dick did a fantastic job with the girls kayaking and completing the interest patch requirements. Do to an injury I could not kayak with them and was a little nervous because of how windy it was. Dick was encouraging, positive and patient with the girls as they struggled in the wind. He definitely has found his calling. The adults that went thanked me for letting them come they had such a great experience. Paul & Jerry were also terrific, to be on the beach at sunset, with a bonfire, seals swimming right off shore and our own personal entertainment how incredible is that. Our lobster was good and certainly an experience for some of the girls. Martha and Crystal were very helpful with information we needed to get around and very accommodating to our needs. We also visited the visitor's center hiked the Buttonbush and Nauset Marsh Trails, biked a little bit on the CCRT, spent an afternoon at Coast Guard Beach and did some Letterboxing. Definitely a positive experience for the girls first hosteling trip, some are already looking into were we can hostel next year. And what a great way for us to experience an area in our own back yards that we were not familiar with. Thank you so much for all your help in planning this trip, a successful trip starts with good planning and you helped to make it very easy. Ellen and the girls from Cadette Troop 1009

August 13, 2004, (Nantucket)
Folks running this hostel actually seem to like what they do, and they provide clean sponges, towels, etc. for the kitchen which encourages hostelers to clean up after themselves. Security is a non issue at the location. Meesh
August 10 2004 (Truro)
HI-Truro was my first hostel experience and a very positive one. The staff was informative and friendly, and the hostel itself was homey. There's no doubt I'll be hostelling in the future. Suzanne

July 11 2004 (Truro)
The large kitchen and living room areas are very accessible and friendly and hearing the pounding surf of the ocean(which is just over the dune) as you fall asleep in this former Coast Guard station house is awesome.

June 18 2004 (Mid Cape)
The hostel was a great experience for my kids; this was their second time in Eastham. I wish there were more expansive bathrooms and I can see that there is room for growth generally at this hostel given the land the hostel owns. Folks are friendly and I find the sort of folks interested in this sort of travel are the sort of folks I and my kids enjoy being around. Thank you.
June 17 2004 (Nantucket)

I wanted to extend my thanks and that of the members of my group who stayed at the Martha's Vineyard hostel over the weekend for the welcome extended to our group. We had a fabulous weekend. I particularly want to thank Sophie for your co-operation with holding our complicated reservation for so long and for maintaining a sense of humor throughout the slew of amendments we made as time passed. With all best wishes Debra

I just want to thank you for all your help and information you provided for our weekend at the Cape. Our girls had a great time and the weather was beautiful. Dick (kayaking) was a wealth of information and even the adults learned something! Tonia was also very nice and helpful. It couldn't have worked out better and I will pass your name onto any other Girl Scout troops that may enjoy something like this. This was our first trip to a hostel and was a new experience for the girls. We really didn't know what to expect. If we stay at one in the future, I'm going to try to work in some time for the girls to do a service project (cleaning, planting, etc...) to help out. This time we were way too busy to be able to help out. Thanks again! Carol

Tonia was FABULOUS - friendly, helpful, and there when she was supposed to be. She loaned us a spare alarm clock when we realized we'd forgotten ours. She gave our cabin extra blankets when one of the cabinmates told her how cold it was. I even saw her taking group pictures for one of the groups that was there just so the whole group could be in the picture! The central Cape location was PERFECT for exploring all over the Cape Cod area. The fact that it was close to a grocery store, CVS and Egg & I couldn't have tickled us more. Joy.

Last year was my first experience with the cape , truly awesome , went there on a whim with no expectation and was thunderstruck by the the unadulterated, unstained , unsullied islands and ocean front ...subsequently made four trips to each of your hostels, all very friendly and accommodating, thanx again , peace Keith
