Codman Academy is a small charter school in Dorchester. It serves 110 students in grades 9-12 and prides itself on using an experiential approach to education. Cultural Kitchen was offered as a Saturday elective class for credit, and 10 sophomores and seniors enrolled.

The CK participants cooked meals from the following countries:

Puerto Rico, Cape Verde, United States, Haiti, Jamaica, Trinidad, Cuba and Italy
