Mid Cape (Eastham) Hostel to Continue Operating

Friends of the Hostel,

Hostelling International Mid Cape has reached an agreement with the Town of Eastham which allows continued operation of the hostel. During our appeal of the decision by the Eastham Zoning Board of Appeals we stressed that the hostel is used for promotion of international understanding, environmental awareness and educational travel .

Since the hostel is used by a nonprofit education corporation, it is not subject to requirements for a special permit or variance for its current operations. We are extremely glad to have reached this resolution in time to assure our many youth groups that they can continue to travel to Cape Cod and utilize our facilities for the summer of 2008.

During this past year we discovered a deep level of community support among Cape Cod residents for the hostel. Many thanks to all supporters and we look forward to seeing you in the upcoming season.

Executive Director
